Alumni, Retirees & Emeriti

Alumni

  • must verify their alumni status at the Circulation Desk each time they request a guest account password by presenting a Govt-issued photo ID or Ryerson One Card. For a holder of alumni card, present a Govt-issued photo ID in addition to the alumni card.
  • pay a $50 annual fee to borrow the print collections.
  • loan periods vary with individual items borrowed, but generally books may be borrowed for 2 weeks. Alumni borrowers may borrow up to 10 books at one time, but may not borrow periodicals, audio-visual items or reserve items.
  • have access to open access resources at library computer workstations.
  • do not have remote access to the library electronic resources due to licensing restrictions established by the database providers.
  • do not have access to interlibrary loan services. (We recommend you contact your local public library if you require this service)
  • printing is not available for Alumni.

Retired Faculty & Staff

  • must provide proof of retirement status from the Human Resources Department and one other piece of Govt-issued photo ID is required to apply for library privileges.
  • loan periods depend on individual items, but generally books may be borrowed for 2 weeks, with 3 renewals. Only 2 reserve items and 3 periodicals/maps may be borrowed at the same time.
  • do not have remote access to most databases due to licensing restrictions established by the database providers.
  • do not have access to interlibrary loan services. (We recommend you contact your local public library if you require this service)

Emeriti

  • Professor/Librarian Emeriti cards and one other piece of Govt-issued photo ID are required to apply for library privileges.
  • loan periods depend on individual items, but generally books may be borrowed for 2 weeks, with 3 renewals. Only 2 reserve items and 3 periodicals/maps may be borrowed at the same time.
