Here are some services Ryerson is proud to provide for its students in hopes of creating an open-minded and diverse campus!
Centre for Women and Trans People
The Centre for Women and Trans People provides a safe organizing space for self-identified women and trans people to come together around issues ranging from reproductive freedom, sexuality and gender empowerment to violence, racism, and the media. We provide advocacy and resources, host discussion groups and other great events from a feminist and trans-positive perspective.
Ted Rogers School of Management’s Diversity Institute at Ryerson University was founded in 1999 with the aim of undertaking research on diversity in the workplace to improve practices in organizations. We work with organizations to develop customized strategies, programming, and resources to promote new, interdisciplinary knowledge and practice about diversity with respect to gender, race/ethnicity, Aboriginal peoples, abilities, and sexual orientation.
Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion
The Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) consults and assists departments and faculties to strategically infuse the values of equity, diversity and inclusion into everything they do. We celebrate and support community members focused on advancing EDI.
Positive Space Ryerson
Positive Space at Ryerson is a coalition of staff and faculty from across campus dedicated to creating and maintaining a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all members of the Ryerson community regardless of sexual orientation and/or gender identity. (from the Ryerson website)
RyePRIDE is an Equity Service Group of the Ryerson Students’ Union (RSU). It represents the Queer and Trans* voices of Ryerson University, including but not limited to: gay, lesbian, bisexual, two spirited, trans, intersex, queer and questioning. RyePRIDE offers education, advocacy and support of queer and trans* people on campus. Our goal is to create a safe and positive campus environment for people of ALL sexual orientations and gender identities. We also have some entertaining and educational events so you can connect with other like-minded queers and allies. Our resources and services are intended to build a healthy and queer-positive Ryerson community. RyePRIDE is proud to be building an inclusive campus since 1977!
The Trans Collective provides a safe and accessbile space for all trans and otherwise non-cisgendered students at Ryerson. We aim to build a trans community and challenge cissexism, transphobia, transmisogyny, and binarism on campus.
