More Elsevier Back Issues

The Library has just purchased back issues (primarily pre-1995) of over 500 Elsevier titles. The following collections were purchased:

BuildingGreen

Resources from BuildingGreen.com including Environmental Building News are now available to Ryerson community members. BuildingGreen is an independent company that provides information for building professionals and policy makers to improve the environmental performance of buildings. The site provides access to a wide variety of topics such as policy, land use, water, energy and materials.

International Bibliography of Theatre and Dance

The International Bibliography of Theatre & Dance with Full Text contains articles from over 100 titles, including Canadian Theatre Review, Dance Chronicle, Dance Teacher, Modern Drama, PAJ: A Journal of Performance and Art, Research in Dance Education, Research in Drama Education, Studies in Theatre and Performance, TDR: The Drama Review, Theater, and many more. Full text of more than 50 books & monographs is also available.

Library Extends Weekend Hours

The Library is extending its weekend hours during the academic term. Beginning Saturday, March 4, 2006, the Library will be open until 12 midnight on Saturday and Sunday. The Library also recently extended its opening and closing hours during the week, now opening at 8 a.m., and closing at 12 midnight, Monday to Friday.

Paper of Record

Paper of Record LogoThe Library has recently acquired the Paper of Record, an historical archive of full-page newspaper images from a collection of international papers spanning the 18th-21st centuries. Canadian and Mexican regional newspapers are well represented.

Alexander Street Press

The Ryerson Library has recently acquired a significant collection of electronic texts in the disciplines of history, women’s studies, drama, literature, film, black studies and diversity studies from the Alexander Street Press. The following collections are included:

10 New Group Study Rooms

The Library has opened 10 new study rooms on the 5th and 7th floors for quiet group study. Each room will hold from 8-10 people and has a blackboard, electrical outlets and is wireless enabled. Rooms can be booked via the Study Room Booking page.

Research Skills Workshops

Need help finding information and doing research? Attend one of the Research Skills Workshops being held this term in the Library. Three different workshops (Finding Articles, Using Google and Using RefWorks) are being offered at a variety of times and dates. Check the Workshops page for details and times.
