Open Access week (Oct. 25 – Oct. 31), is a global event aimed at inspiring wider participation in making Open Access (the free, immediate, online access to the results of scholarly research, and the right to use and re-use those results as you need) a new norm in scholarship and research.

Join the University Library for a virtual panel discussion about open access and knowledge mobilization strategies and the official launch of RShare – the Library’s new University knowledge mobilization platform and integrated research repository solution.
A virtual panel discussion about RShare and its role in knowledge mobilization will include:
Carol Shepstone, Chief Librarian – speaking on national and international open repository developments and collaborations
Brian Cameron, Head, Collection Services and Digital Initiatives Librarian – speaking about RShare, open deposit, and knowledge mobilization
Nora Mulvaney, Research Data and Liaison Librarian – speaking in the role of data deposit in RShare and knowledge mobilization
Richard McCulloch, Executive Director, Research Services – speaking on OVPRI outreach efforts to faculty about knowledge mobilization, and knowledge mobilization in grant applications.

The new RShare platform is powered by figshare, an integrated repository solution that provides access to a wide range of scholarly and creative work including journal articles, dissertations, data, video, images, 3D models, and supports over 300 file formats, faculty profiles, DOI minting, and more. RShare is the Library’s new University Knowledge Mobilization Platform and is a key part of knowledge mobilization planning for researchers.
