New: Virtual Library DME Appointments

The Library’s Digital Media Experience Lab is open for Virtual Tutorials. Book an online appointment with student advisor. Advisor are trained to provide easy to understand and supportive help with tools such as, Adobe Premiere, After Effect Audition / Cakewalk, and more!

Laptop and Wifi Lending

The Library has laptops and mobile internet hotspots available (in limited supply) for remote lending for student use within Ontario. This is a service provided by the Ryerson Library to assist students who require access to technology in order to complete courses remotely during COVID-19. Users will need to complete and submit this online request form to access this program. Students who are experiencing hardship as a result of the pandemic will receive priority.

Note:  As of October 18, 2020 all internet hotspots are in use.

TRSM and Faculty of Engineering and Architectural Science Laptop Lending

Laptop Lending for TRSM is restricted to undergraduate and graduate students, both full-time and part-time and who are currently enrolled in Ted Rogers School of Management programs only. TRSM users will need to complete and submit this TRSM Laptop Lending Request Form to access this program. Students who are experiencing hardship as a result of the pandemic will receive priority.

Laptop Lending for the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture is restricted to full-time undergraduate students currently enrolled in the Faculty of Engineering and Architectural Science programs only.  FEAS users will need to complete and submit this  Engineering and Architectural Science Laptop Lending Request Form  to access this program. Students who are experiencing hardship as a result of the pandemic will receive priority.

Online Resources

Access to all online resources including ebooks, ejournals, data, streaming video/media  and more, remains available 24/7.


Short term loans of our textbook collection are currently unavailable. Please check the Ryerson Campus Store for electronic textbooks.

Course Readings

The Ryerson Library provides customized online course readings for many courses. These are prepared based on instructor requests and are typically provided for access at the start of term.

Electronic Resources

The Ryerson Library subscribes to a wide array of electronic resources (articles, ebooks, data, video). To access these resources, you must be a Ryerson student (full or part time), staff or faculty member with an active my.ryerson account. These are available remotely 24/7.

Scan and Deliver Service

Scan and Deliver Service, along with Print Pickup Service, is available to students, faculty and staff who require access to portions of printed works (chapters, articles, etc.) that fall within copyright permissible amounts can make a request through our Scan and Deliver Service. Requests can be placed through the Library’s online catalogue.

Contactless Book Return

In person, Contactless Book Return is available, by appointment, 7 days per week, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.  Appointments may be booked using Google Calendar Appointment Slots.  For an invitation, please email

Contactless Print Pickup

Starting July 14, 2020, Ryerson Library is pleased to offer Contactless Print Pickup Service for print books that are not available electronically. This service is open to Ryerson community members with an active OneCard.

Temporarily Restricted: Study Space Booking

Important notice: the Province of Ontario has announced additional measures as part of its COVID-19 Response Framework under which they are requiring individuals living in Toronto to restrict trips outside of the home for essential reasons only, and to limit contact with individuals outside of your household. These come into effect Monday, November 23, 2020 at 12:01 a.m.. when Toronto will enter the grey “Lockdown” phase of this Framework for a minimum of 28 days to help halt or interrupt the transmission of COVID-19.

In keeping with these new measures the University has temporarily restricted access to student study spaces. We encourage students to stay home and limit contact as outlined in the framework. If you are in need of special or alternate arrangements such as a laptop or wifi hotspot loan to complete your work, please email, If your access to the Library onsite facilities is essential and critical to being able to successfully meet the mandatory requirements of your classes and their learning objectives, please refer to the revised information on temporary restricted study space bookings in the Library. Note, access is temporarily restricted: Computer stations are available for booking in the Library’s Ronald D. Besse Information & Learning Commons, located on the main floor. The number of available stations has been reduced to adhere to physical distancing guidelines and to limit floor capacity in order to maintain as safe an environment as possible for students and Library staff. Access electronic multiple articles in databases, search journals, newspapers and magazines, or find specific articles  .

Research guides can assist you with finding online articles and books applicable to your topic and courses.

Citation Guide

The citation guide provides assistance properly citing all material in various citation styles like APA, plus a list of free citation management programs.

Library Workshops

The Library hosts a number of virtual workshops each month. Learn about everything from finding credible resources, literature and systematic reviews to Adobe Lightroom and virtual board games.
