Fair Dealing and Copyright Workshop

As a Ryerson instructor, you need to learn about the fair dealing provision in the Copyright Act, and how it can be used in your courses to make short excerpts of text freely available to your students. Understanding the limits of fair dealing is essential to your copyright compliance as an instructor, and is particularly important now that Ryerson’s Access Copyright licence has expired. This session will also discuss how you can use the Library’s One Stop Course Reading service when your use of a copyright-protected work will exceed the fair dealing guidelines.

When: Feb 24th, 11:00am – noon

Where: SLC514, 5th floor of Student Learning Centre

February 22-26th is Fair Dealing Week. To help raise awareness about fair dealing on campus, this session is open to anyone teaching at Ryerson.
