Remember to Clear Fines/Overdues

Students should clear all outstanding fines and return overdue items by Wednesday December 21 to ensure access to grades. Use the Check Your File option on the Library website to see if you have overdue items, or fines greater than $10.  All fines can be paid to the Library at the Circulation Desk, either by cash, Interac (debit), VISA, MasterCard, American Express or the Ryerson OneCard.  The Library also accepts payment from the above credit cards by phone, please call 416-979-5055, “Option 2″.

The Library is open until 4:30 pm Wednesday December 21 and then closed until Wednesday January 4 at 8:30 am.

  1. Hello,

I’m writing this email in response to the excessive library fines that you are trying to force upon me. Granted, I took out the 8 books early in the semester. But I renewed them twice and not just the one that I see you have me listed for. Things came up, they were heavy to lug back, I needed them…I forgot, blah blah.. At the end of the day, I knew there would be a fine, but I thought it would be worth the price of loaning the books. 40 maybe. But not this…

$804 ?!?! I can’t put it together. Is this a mistake? Or do you actually expect a student to be able to afford this?.. How greedy of you. Your book selection for Production Design and Theatre is so outdated green screens are not even included? You want me to buy books above the suggested retail price from 10 years ago?

I tried to call this morning several times. I let the phone ring for a few minutes before I hung up and tried again. How could you not answer your phone? Or is that another way of cutting costs and making the students suffer?

I’ve extended the books now for a third time. On Saturday or Sunday I will return the books. I expect you to contact me and work something out before then.

  2. Hello,

I renewed the books (14Dec-19 Dec. still I had 2 times for renewable… and was sure to bring them in Jan 2012),seems dead line is 21st Dec. I will be out of city. It’s my fault that I couldn’t check e-mail. I will bring them in first week of Jan. 2012. I called on 17th. but couldn’t make a connection. Have a happy holiday!

  3. Hello,

I am a student of continuing education I don’t have to attend classes every day an now preparing for a project. I borrowed 5 books. I wouldn’t prefer paying loaning for these books.

  4. Set this up so we can pay library fines online. The entire library system is digitalized yet lacking this option. I have to wait for 2 weeks to see my grades because I owe $1.50, ridiculous.

  5. So if I have a departmental withhold from you guys and it’s $21.00 how can I pay this? Will I still be able to enroll before it’s paid?
