New e-reserves Pilot Project Launched

The Ares e-reserve (electronic course readings) pilot was launched on May 2, 2011 for spring courses. This new system promises greater benefits for instructors and students alike. Ares is seamlessly linked with Blackboard so that instructors and students can log into the new e-reserve system using their my.ryerson.ca account.

The key advantages for faculty/instructors include the option to create course readings, check the status of processing by library staff and view the usage of each of the readings. The benefits for students are that they can organize their course readings and learn about additions through email notifications.

Find out more about Ares from the Faculty Reserves web pages. Included are brief instructions, with screen shots, on how to use Ares and a short tutorial highlighting the features.

Please send feedback to reserve@ryerson.ca. Full implementation of Ares in Blackboard is planned for September, 2011.
