Popular Reading Collection

Looking for a good book to read? This fall, the Library has selected nearly 75 novels and paperbacks for a new leisure reading collection. In addition to current novels, we’ve also purchased mysteries, sci-fi, romance, and some historical fiction. You’ll find all these titles on a bookcase behind the flat panel display on the main floor of the library. There are comfy chairs beside the collection. We encourage you to take a break, browse the shelves and relax with a good read. All titles are available for the standard loan period of two weeks. Keep checking as new titles are added. We will also be implementing a virtual suggestion box … stay tuned for more developments!

  1. I really think Rye needs a Children’s Collection… Would really be an asset for your ECE students and staff and also promote early literacy for students who have young children.

  2. Hi Holly – the Library does have a small collection of mostly older titles of children’s literature on the 10th floor, mostly in the PZ call number range.

As Children’s Literature is widely available at most public libraries, we have not actively collected newer titles, however, it is something to consider for future planning, particularly when the Library acquires additional space. Thank you for the suggestion.

  3. The shelves are looking pretty empty right now, but not to worry … about 80 more titles are on the way! Keep checking back as others are returned and new titles arrive.
