Changes to OVID

As of February 4, 2008, all OVID databases including: CINAHL, Healthstar, MEDLINE, EBM Reviews, HAPI, and ICONDA have a newly redesigned search interface.

If you are accustomed to the map term to subject heading‘ search option to locate subjects and combine searches, you’ll now find this option under the ‘Advanced Ovid Search‘ tab.

Now, when you run a search, you are automatically taken to view the results list. To view your search history and to combine search topics, scroll up to the top of the page and expand the search history by clicking on the long, rectangular, blue search history bar.

To combine searches, within the search history, click on the boxes beside your search terms and choose to combine with AND or OR.

If you are accustomed to keyword searching (by deselecting the map term to subject heading), please note that the truncation symbol has changed from $ to *.

For more information including search tips, please refer to the Ovid resource center.
