Like many schools or institutions of learning, The Toronto Normal School produced a yearbook to showcase its graduates and school activities. This yearbook, for the academic year 1932-1933, belonged to Bessie Loretta Williamson and was given, with other books, to Riverdale Collegiate Institute in Toronto. Bonnie Drechsel, Riverdale’s Head Librarian, donated the yearbook to the Ryerson Archives in 2000. The Archives has five other yearbooks in its Collection, including one from 1939-1940 which belonged to the grandfather of Mary Anthony, from Ryerson’s Office of the Vice President, Administration and Student Affairs. Ms. Anthony’s grandfather was Nat Keefe, who served as Director of Physical Education. A more extensive set of yearbooks (1913-1969) for the Toronto Normal School/Teacher’s College can be found in the Ontario Historical Education Collection of the University of Toronto/Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) Library.
