For the launch of a partnership between the Consultative Group on Early Childhood Care and Development and Ryerson’s School of Early Childhood Education, actor Roger Moore (The Saint, James Bond) visited the University on October 29, 1999 for a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Mr. Moore attended the launch in his capacity as Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF, which is a major supporter of the Consultative Group. The Group is an international inter-agency body dedicated to improving the condition of young children at risk. While at Ryerson, Mr. Moore also received an honorary doctorate of law. The two photographs shown here are part of a series turned over to the Archives in 2000-2001 by Louise Zimanyi, the Consultative Group’s Co-ordinator (Collection Record 187-23).
